Drop-in Community Groups

At the Innerwork Center, we believe in the power of community and connection. Our drop-in community groups are open to everyone and are designed to create a sense of belonging. These donation-based groups offer a safe space for individuals to come together, explore what matters most to them, and engage in meaningful conversations. Whether you are looking to connect with others, delve into self-discovery, or simply find a supportive community, our groups provide a welcoming environment for all. Join us and experience the transformative power of shared inner work and community connection.

Accessible Mindfulness

The Accessible Mindfulness Group is an intentional online community of Deaf people and people who self-identify as having a disability or living with chronic illness, injury, or pain that meets weekly to connect, learn and practice mindfulness meditation together. Mindfulness and wisdom can arise in powerful ways when the interface with the world around a person is altered from what is considered standard. This group creates a safe container in which the development of individual mindfulness and meditation practices, both in sitting and in daily life, and inner exploration are deeply informed by the experience of the embodied differences of the group members.

Coming Home: A BIPOC Spiritual Community

Coming Home is a wellbeing affinity group for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). When we come together, we can show up as our true selves. It is a space where we can recognize our needs and be in a community that supports healing and connection. Join us the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm. Even if you’re late, we’ll be here and there will be a space for you, just like coming home.

Queer Richmond Sangha

Queer Richmond Sangha (QRS) is a vibrant community dedicated to embracing and supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, or otherwise gender or sexuality non-conforming individuals. In the traditional sense, "Sangha" refers to a community devoted to the exploration of dharma and meditation. QRS builds on this concept by creating a space where these profound practices and teachings are examined from and for an LGBTQIA+ perspective.

  • QRS meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on Zoom

Sunday Morning Meditation Meetup

New to the art of sitting still or looking to mix up your meditation routine? Join the Sunday Morning Meditation group for a laid-back and welcoming meditation experience. Sessions typically begin with a 25-minute silent meditation. Afterward, we open the floor for discussion, which can center on the meditation, experiences during the week, or anything related to practice and waking up in life. These discussions often include reflective pauses, creating space for thought and shared insight.

Weather permitting, this group may meet outdoors at Maymont - click the button below to join the meetup group and get connected.

The Bench

Step away from the noise and into stillness. The Bench is a simple gathering for shared silence, open to everyone regardless of experience or background. There is no agenda, no particular style, no instruction, and no expectations. It’s an invitation to simply come as you are, sit in silence, and be.

Free and open to the public, this monthly event provides a gentle pause for personal reflection and collective presence. The Bench is a place to connect with yourself and the quiet company of others.

Join us on the final Sunday of each month from 4-5pm.
